Love Your City Contest in Marpole

Published: January 21, 2024

It’s back! If you’re seeing love hearts everywhere in Vancouver, don’t worry. It’s part of a city-wide Love Your City campaign sponsored by 15 of the city’s BIAs (Business Improvement Areas), including Marpole.

From pink umbrellas to giant candy sweethearts to love signs and murals, these are just a few of the ways local business organizations are encouraging Vancouverites to explore local neighbourhoods this February.

While different business improvement associations (BIAs) usually do something for Valentine’s Day, this year 15 are joining forces for the ‘Love Your City‘ campaign. This year, it’s all about showing love for our city neighbourhoods, outdoors.

In Marpole, there are FOUR spots to show your Love; the ‘Love All Your Neighbours’ mural at Granville Street and West 65th Ave; the I Heart Marpole installations at Granville and West 63rd Avenue and at 70th and Granville; and the giant pink heart in front of the Marpole Library. You’ll be able to spot these signs of love everywhere in Marpole!

It’s easy to play!

How to play:
1. Like the post & follow us and the neighbourhood of the day.
2. Tag your 2 favourite local businesses in that area in the comments, along with a friend
3. For bonus entries, share a post from the local business in your stories, tagging us and the neighbourhood

For 10 bonus entries, head down to that neighbourhood and snap a photo of the love installation (or anything you love in the neighbourhood) and share it to your feed or stories. Be sure to tag @loveyourcity @loveyourcitycontest #loveyourcity #loveyourcitycontest so we see it!

Giveaway ends on February 29th, 2024 at midnight. Check back as we will be posting a chance to win every other day in February and will be announcing the grand prize winner at the end of the month!
