Take the self-guided Marpole Public Art Tour

Published: November 6, 2023

In celebration of more than a dozen pieces of public art in the Marpole commercial district, the Marpole BIA has unveiled a new self-guided public art walking tour of the neighbourhood.

The Marpole Self-Guided Public Art Tour invites residents and visitors to find and read about the public art pieces located along Granville Street between West 63rd to West 71st Avenues.

These include the popular “Love ALL Your Neighbours” mural at West 66th Avenue, as well as the I “Heart” Marpole installations at West 63rd and West 70th Avenue, respectfully.

The public art sites will be identified via QR Code stickers that can be scanned by smartphones. The QR Code leads to a PDF document which highlights each individual piece of art, including information about the mural, artist and other works.

There is also a map showing the location of each public art piece. The public is invited to explore the art at their lesiure and in the order of their choosing.

“The Marpole community is proud of the high quality of public art in our neighbourhood,” says Gordon Bohlmann, President of the Marpole BIA. “This self-guided walking tour invites residents and visitors to enjoy exploring our community’s creativity and vibrancy, as represented through its public art.”

The Marpole Self-Guided Public Art Tour is free of charge.
